PostHeaderIcon RAI - ITALIAN ANCHORWOMAN WAIVE GO ON AIR

Maria Luisa Busi, one of the most popular italian anchorwoman of the italian national broadcast (RAI) prime time TV news (TG1), announces in a letter that waive go on air.
Three pages and a half to explain that she doesn't identify herself in the TG1 anymore and to say that, while journalists can refuse to sign the articles to defend their own work, anchormen can only take away their faces the screen.

That's exactly what she decided to do and she won't host the 8 pm Tv News anymore. She made this decision after a number of strives she had with the Director of Rai Uno Augusto Minzolini.
Paolo Gentiloni (PD Party) said: "Maria Luisa Busi's decision to be against the newspaper changeover is brave and of high professional value. The company should wonder about the degree of the distorting of its first TV News: it was the Institutional Voice of RAI information, but now it's trasforming into a militant and biased news broadcast".
Daniele Capezzone (PDL Party) said: "I express my solidarity with the Director Minzolini and with the great majority of the TG 1 (Tv news on Rai Uno Channel) editors, that at the moment are forced to undergo the Maria Luisa Busi's reprimand. Neither Busi nor others are TG1's owners. And the 'superstar mentality' of who think to be untouchable (or even feel to possess a better morality) is something unacceptable for the millions italians paying the RAI fee, and that stood  for years a sectarian information in favour of the Left wing (without Busi's complaints). Tv news on RAI 1, at now, has a great audience rating. Maybe somebody is not happy about it ".
